Our Vision For Higher Education
The Flourishing Academic Network (FAN) is guided by the belief that higher education is a catalyst for the flourishing of all students and society at large.
Our scope includes academic experience in tandem with broader aspects of student life, and it emphasizes the importance of research paired with practical application. We approach this work from a plurality of perspectives and disciplines with a common commitment to innovation and systemic transformation in higher education. We believe that through academic research, innovative teaching, effective advocacy, and visionary leadership, higher education can be a place of flourishing.
Our Network
The Flourishing Academic Network (FAN) is a consortium of leading universities, government representatives, and mental health organizations who are actively reimagining higher education as a place that promotes student flourishing individually, collectively, and systemically. As faculty, researchers, campus leaders, community leaders, and mental health advocates, we enact this vision through our research, teaching, programming, advocacy, and leadership. Membership is at the individual level and the institutions represented are reflective of the home institutions of our members.
